Treatments

Swedish Massage

Relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. It also involves kneading, friction, tapping, and stretching of the muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is particularly beneficial for those with chronic aches and pains. During a deep tissue massage, the massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. This technique differs from Swedish massage in that it targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.

Trigger Point Massage/Acupressure

Focuses on identifying and releasing trigger points, which are hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle tissue. These trigger points can cause pain and discomfort locally or refer pain to other areas of the body, a phenomenon known as referred pain. During a trigger point massage session, the massage therapist applies targeted pressure to these specific points to release tension and alleviate pain. The pressure may be applied using fingers, knuckles, elbows, or specialized massage tools. The goal is to deactivate the trigger points, thereby reducing muscle tension and restoring normal muscle function.

Foot Reflexology

Involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet to promote healing and relaxation throughout the body. By stimulating these points, practitioners believe they can improve overall health and well-being.

During a foot reflexology session, a trained reflexologist will use their hands to apply pressure to various areas of the feet. Each area corresponds to a particular organ or system, such as the liver, kidneys, or digestive system. By applying pressure to these points, the reflexologist aims to stimulate energy flow and promote balance within the body.

Thai Stretch

A traditional form of bodywork that originated in Thailand. It combines elements of yoga, stretching, and massage to promote relaxation, flexibility, and overall well-being.

During a Thai stretching session, the recipient typically lies on a padded mat on the floor while the practitioner uses their hands, elbows, knees, and feet to apply pressure to specific points on the body.
